Parr and Kirkup Lift Euro Vets Round 2 Titles

On a lovely sunny afternoon at Cramlington Sporting Club local riders Gavin Parr and Terry Kirkup took the honours in the Orchid Male Cancer Awareness backed Euro Veterans Cycle Speedway round 2.

23 riders from all over the Country contested the over 40s, 50s and 60s event with local riders showing very strongly in the overall outcome.

First up was Gavin Parr who managed to fend off a major challenge from Elite League rider Mark Griffiths to take the over 40s round. Parr was joined in the A final by Griffiths along with fellow Northumbrian Vikings Michael Parr and Jason Keith.

To make it a memorable day for the club Terry Kirkup took a fantastic win in the A final of the over 60s event with Ashie Patterson from the Vikings finishing 4th

The crowd at Cramlington were treated to some fantastic action and hopefully this won't be the last time we see the Euro Vets series arrive in Northumberland.
